HID pivCLASS RKCL40 Readers

The pivCLASS RKCL40 13.56 MHz card reader from HID offers a way for your access control system to meet FIPS 201 compliance requirements without having to overhaul your existing system. The RKCL40 meets TWIC Reader Specifications and NIST SP 800-116 guidelines for "limited" locations. Security is further enhanced with the M2000 pivCLASS authentication module, layering CAK authentication on top of CHUID + VIS authentication for FICAM compliance and support for "controlled" locations.

With an illuminated 4x3 keypad, the RKCL40 offers the power to perform two-factor authentication with PIN and contact/contactless smart card.

The RKCL40 is compatible with a wide variety of 13.56 MHz cards, including PIV, PIV-I, CIV, CAC, TWIC, FRAQ, DESFire and MiFARE cards. SIO (Secure Identity Objects) are supported on iCLASS SE cards. (Note: for 125 kHz Prox support, choose the RPKCL40). Typical read range for the contactless reader is between 1" and 4.5" depending on the card or fob type.

The RKCL40 is black in color, and suitable for indoor/outdoor use. It operates on +12VDC, measures 6.1" x 4.8" x 1.2", and is designed to be mounted on double-gang boxes. The RKCL40 is warranteed for life against defects in materials and workmanship.
