The RS10 is the smallest reader in HID's high frequency migration reader line up and is designed to be mullion-mounted. It is very small and only requires 55mA of current. It does not have dual transmit frequency support like its bigger brothers the RSP15, RSP40 and the RSPK40 and only operates with 13.56 MHz (so HID Prox 125 Hz cards are not supported).
Nevertheless, the RS10 still supports a range of card formats. Of key importance is support for iCLASS cards (up to 32kbit), ISO 1443A cards (read-only), ISO 1443BN CSN cards and IS0 15693 cards (read-only). Of course, the idea behind the high frequency range is to make it easy to upgrade from MIFARE Classic to the more sophisticated MIFARE DESFire EV1 with minimal downtime, as the RS10 provides support for both protocols. AES support and integrated SAM mean the RS10 is ready for your complex cryptographic applications.
Termination is accomplished through a terminal strip connector, and the connecting Wiegand cable is supported up to a distance of 150m. Physically small but made to last, the IP55-certified RS10 is made from a UL94 polycarbonate and has FCC certification. Warranted against material defects for life, the HID RS10 is secure and vandal-proof.
Choose the RS10 High Frequency Migration Reader when you need a mullion-mounted card reader that supports MIFARE Classic and MIFARE DESFire EV1.
