For increased security when you need it most, the HID bioCLASS reader offers a multi-factor authentication setup smart card, fingerprint and keypad all rolled into one.
Worried about user data in biometric systems? For the height of security, the bioCLASS reader doesnt need to store fingerprint data. Users fingerprint templates are stored only on the iCLASS smart cards they carry, both making the system more secure and making database management easier.
With the bioCLASS, you can choose to employ just the card and biometric fingerprint security check, just the card and PIN, or all three together for maximum security.
For indoor use only, the bioCLASS works with just about any smart card available on the market today (choose from over 40,000 vendors), but notably works well with iCLASS 15693 and iCLASS 14443B smart cards. The 64-bit encryption keys employed are extremely secure. Wiegand and Clock-and-Data models are available, as well as more esoteric options for the writer component).
With a 60 x 18 mm LCD screen, the bioCLASS reader displays instructions on-screen on how to set it up, customize it, and how to use it on a daily basis. The keypad has 12 switches and has a raised mark on the five key to aid visually impaired users. Audio feedback can be configured.
Need your access application to be as secure as possible? With three multi-factor authentication levels, including biometric data and state of the art secure smart cards, the bioCLASS is indeed in a class of its own.
