The HID multiCLASS SE RPK40 reader offers a secure, standards based and flexible platform that has become the new benchmark for highly adaptable, interoperable and secure access control systems. It simplifies upgrading from legacy technology and supports HID Prox, Indala, EM4102 and AWID, thus providing confidence to existing facilities that their existing systems can be conveniently upgraded with the change in business requirements. The RPK40 multiCLASS SE reader also supports mobile devices utilizing Seos and thus the technology can be safely embedded into both fixed and mobile device environments. The RPK40 reader also supports the Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) that together with the Secure Channel Protocol (SDP) provides secure communication and central management. It has a 4x3 keypad in its UL94 polycarbonate casing with dimensions of 3.3" x 4.8" x 1.1". The unit weighs 9.1 oz. in pigtail wiring and 8.0 oz. in terminal wiring configuration. The normal standby average current draw of the unit in standard power mode is 95mA, though the intelligent power management mode reduces the reader power consumption by as much as 75% compared to standard operating mode. The peak draw of the unit is 220mA in either mode. It operates efficiently in temperature range of -31 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit and 5%-95% relative humidity, in both indoor and outdoor environments. The unit carries a limited lifetime warranty. The RPK40 multiCLASS reader supports both 13.56 MHz and 125 kHz cards. Being wall switch size, it is designed to mount and cover single gang switch boxes and also uses a slotted mounting plate, thus it can be used in Americas, Europe as well as Asia. IUL294, FCC, IC, CE, C-tick, SRRC, NCC, iDA, RoHS and FIPS-201 certified, the multiCLASS RPK40 reader offers advanced features such as layered security, tamper proof keypad and secure element hardware.
