The OMNIKEY 3111 Serial Desktop Reader is a smart card reader for desktops that features a high performance, high speed transmission suitable for any workplace environment. It is compatible with Windows 98 and above, as well as Linux operating systems. The reader also supports many different smart card types including 5V, 3V, and 1.8V cards and ISO 7816 Class A, B, and C cards.

Constructed with durable ABS and at only 80 x 67 x 28mm, with a meantime between failures (MTBF) of 500,000 hours, durability of 100,000 insertions, and built in thermal and short circuit protection, the OMNIKEY 3111 is both compact and durable. The two-color LED indicates the status of the card reader at a glance. It also features multiple smart card detection options including movement detection with auto power off and auto detection of the type of smart card used.
