HID SmartID Readers/Writers

HID's new range of SmartID readers and reader/writers incorporate ISO 14443 capabilities, allowing the widest compatibility with smart cards ever seen. A key feature is their full support for the MIFARE and DESFire application data file formats. IE standard and custom formats are also supported, as well as FlexSmart, Prox, Prox SmartTRANS, Indala and Indala SmartTRANS, and HID Corporate 1000. With SmartTRANS SmartID readers, both 125 kHz and 13.56 MHz transmission is supported.

SmartID readers and writers offer all of the benefits of the iCLASS system and builds upon them to be the most feature-packed reader and reader/writer on the market. Note that iCLASS access control applications are not supported in a SmartID reader, just as the iCLASS family does not support full read/write MIFARE/DESFire application control applications.

Communication formats are equally diverse, supporting RS232, RS422, RS485, IS0 7811, Clock-and-Data, Wiegand, and even custom formats.

Available in single-gang electrical box or mullion configurations, with or without keypad, SmartID readers are built with the highest strength IP55-compliant polycarbonate housing, meaning they can be used indoors or outdoors and will resist vandalism. Multiple mounting accessories are available making mounting simple,. HID SmartID readers have a limited lifetime warranty.
